Celebrating Mozart: 1-27-09

As regular readers of my blog know, from time to time I like to dip into history to remind us of some event or person who helped to shape faith in some important way.

Which is why today I want to commemorate the birth on this date in 1756 of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (depicted here), whose music has filled churches for centuries.

The Roman Catholic Church can claim Mozart as a lifelong member, but among his 600-some musical compositions are many that churches of lots of denominations have used.

Mozart, in effect, preached the gospel through the gift of music.

It's clear that church music has changed and that today many churches have turned away from the standard European composers of several centuries ago and are using much more modern music. I have no problem with that except that I wish they would not abandon these masters completely while they search for sounds that appeal to today's congregations. There is simply too much genius in the Mozarts and others of his ilk.

At any rate, raise a toast to Mozart today. And let your computer play a bit of his extraordinary music for you before the day is out.

MORE ON THE HOLOCAUST-DENYING BISHOP

I mentioned here yesterday that Pope Benedict XVI had lifted the excommunication of a bishop who is a Holocaust denier. Richard Williamson was affiliated with the movement started by French Bishop Marcel Lefebvre, and as John L. Allen Jr. of the National Catholic Reporter notes in this piece, Lefebvre's movement has long had an anti-Jewish bias. As this article notes, in quoting a theologian, to deny a crime is to commit it a second time. Pope John Paul II seemed to have good reasons for his 1988 excommunication of Williamson and others. I think B-16 has no good reason to lift that excommunication -- at least not until Williamson repents of his know-nothing revisionist history.

But since you are on the Holocaust denial thing, how about something on another kind of Holocaust denial...the outright lie that science had nothing to do with making the Holocaust what it was, that theories of Eugenics had nothing to do with making the holocaust possible, or that atheism is not really responisible when atheist commit massive crimes?

The role of science in the Holocaust, not to mention the complicity of American Corporations, the Supreme Court, and the man inspired by Margaret Sanger (Sanger was the atheist founder of Planned Parenthood, who called for the elimination of the unfit and "human weeds"):...some will try to deny the role of the science of that day, but for over 60 years Eugenics was considered good enough science, and filled American universities; not to mention German ones!

Sounds like our Planet today? We are choking on our Pollution, and keep praying to God to Save Us. From What? Each Other and our Filthy Planet?

Humans should Do something about our Pollution. Not God. God gave us Earth for our Home. Humans should be the Caretakers, not God.

We have an International Space Station, where Humans from different countries Work Together for their Good, their Life, and the Space Station's Life.

If they do not keep it Clean, their Mission will be canceled. They regularly receive supplies from Earth, or they could not exist.

Our Planet is also a Space Station, with no outside supplies. GODs Earth's Resources are for All Life on Earth, Equally, not just for the Haves.

If Humans do not Share Equally and keep their Spaceship Clean, their Mission will be Aborted, by the Unbalanced Elements.

We are setting up the Judgement Day Planetary Fire, with our Filth and Nuclear Bombs.

What are Toxic Filth, and Nuclear Bombs, doing on our Spaceship Home? We cannot pitch them out the window, like we do our dust.

Is it Time for Life on Earth to be Aborted Again? We already had a 'Planetary' Flood that destroyed most of that Unbalanced Noah/Atlantis High Tech Science Society. Earth was Washed Clean.

Religion teaches that Perfect Humans Reproduced Children by Heterosexual Body Birth. They became Killer Humans, of Each Other and their Home Planet.

Did Life on Earth Evolve up to our High Tech Science today, or Did Humans with High Tech, Colonized Earth 'in the beginning'? That is the Question that divides Humans also.

Our Scientists in the 1900s proposed Colonizing a Planet, so this is not Impossible for Humans with High Tech. It was not Impossible on Planet Earth 'in the beginning'.

Humans today, have made fiery chariots, like the Religious Gods, in our Image, that started Life on our Home Planet, and as the Noah/Atlantis Society had.

Our Past Religious Writings, and Myths, need to be Translated with High Tech Science, to Prove Life Evolved on Earth, or, if it was Colonized by High Tech Humans.

We Know Colonization is Possible today. We do not Know, how Life Evolved in the Universe, but it did not Evolve on our Planet.

Eugenic Laws Against Race Mixing

Laws forbidding marriage between people of different races were common in America from the Colonial period through the middle of the 20th century. By 1915, twenty-eight states made marriages between "Negroes and white persons" invalid; six states included this prohibition in their constitutions.

In the early 1900's, the eugenics movement supplied a new set of arguments to support existing restrictions on interracial marriage. These arguments incorporated a "scientific" brand of racism, emphasizing the supposed biological dangers of mixing the races – also known as miscegenation. Influential writers like Madison Grant, a leading eugenicist, warned that racial mixing was "a social and racial crime." He said that acceptance of racial intermarriage would lead America toward "racial suicide" and the eventual disappearance of white civilization. -

It is interesting to note that at least 16 members of the Virginia General Assembly who claimed to be descendants of Pocahontas objected to the first draft of the law they proposed, because it defined as "non-white" anyone with 1/64 of American Indian ancestry.
Alabama and Georgia eventually copied the Virginia law.

Within a decade, similar laws prohibiting inter-ethnic marriages and attempting to sort citizens by percentage of Jewish "blood" were adopted by the government of Nazi Germany."

It makes clear the role of Science, Francis Galton (drawing on the works of his cousin Charles Darwin) and the "mother of planned parenthood" Margaret Sanger. (Margaret was a comitted atheist, by the way.)

Many other American politicians were involved in the Eugenics movement, such as Woodrow Wilson, as were key Supreme Court Justices. (Oliver Wendell Holmes was famous for justifying forced sterilization in BUCK v. Bell when he declared, "Three generations of imbeciles are enough."

Clearly, the Holocaust as we know it could not have happened without the scientific backing described in the article you cite. Of course, scientific views change, but they were considered good enough in this area for sixty years...long enough to exterminate millions.

All the Eugenics practiced in America, led to Cloning in the Last Half of the 1900s. And led to Cloning in other Countries.

So Cloning is the next step to making Perfect Humans like the Adam and Eve Colony.

Then making a female copy of the male is Last Step to make Perfect Humans, for a High Tech Science Peace Lifestyle.

His Holiness Benedict XVI did not lift anything, the latae sententiae excommuiation was found to be lacking support from canon law. As this was an excommunication based on action, the seemingly unlawful consecration of four bishops without papal approval, and not because of heresy, your arguements are foundless.

Bishop Williamson's words have been idiotic, but why should they be used to punish thousands of believers? As the words are not in violation of the faith itself, being as they are on a historic event and not on revelation, they are inconsequential to the discussion.

Perhaps all groups should be judged on the opinions of one of its members? Perhaps the Christian bashing coming from some rabbi's should be a reason that Christians should stop engaging in discussions with the Jews? Thats the answer right?

Bill, I wonder if your church would allow someone to join while maintaining beliefs of history inconsistent with your own. Can I join PCUSA and have a researched opinion on the amount of jews that died if it is lower than yours? Would you deny membership to someone for their political or historical beliefs? Would you deny the grace of baptism to one who believes the gas chambers did not exist? I hope you wouldn't since, it is arguable, that everything in history is debatable. OH yeah, it hurts jewish/catholic relations. Well, gotta deny a few bad eggs the sacraments to suck up to those that deny that Christ is the son of God, right? You don't mention in your piece that Mozart was in fact a Mason. Remember The Magic Flute and the Masonic Funeral music ? I think if he had been a serious church goer, or Mason for that matter with strong social ties to either community he might not have ended up in an unmarked paupers grave - no funeral for him poor guy.
I once asked a Catholic priest (some years ago in Dublin) why they didn't do Haydn or Mozart Masses in church anymore - he told me it was too difficult for the choir !! Guess that's your answer as to why most churches have gone "modern".

Will, I am certainly not Iggy. It may be too much for your made up mind to accept, but not all atheists are like him. He is very angry immigrant who came out of eastern europe as he expalined when he spokr to the Community of Reason back in March or so. He told us his goal is to get the bible thumpers and bring here what he came out of.
One thing he is very cagey about and that is why he left. He gets upset very easily if you oppose him and tends to just clam up if he feels you are getting the better of him.
He is not beyond making things up about people and I would say you should stay away from him.
