I do this blog as a labor of love. Nobody pays me.
In fact, it costs me money to pay Typepad.com, the host.
So I decided in the fall of 2008 to try putting Google ads on the site so I could at least recoup the annual payment to Typepad. But I wanted to make sure the ads were unobtrusive and at least somewhat related to the topics I write about. So far I've been satisfied they are both.
About the only time I am compensated for having ads on the blog, however, is when readers click on them.
So far the financial returns to me have been extraordinarily minimal, but enough to give me hope that I might cover the annual cost.
