I’m Bill Tammeus, former Faith columnist for The Kansas City Star -- www.kansascity.com.
I’ve been at The Star since 1970, most of that time on the editorial page, where I wrote a daily column for about 25 years. Starting in March 2004 my column appeared in the Saturday Faith section. As of July 1, 2006, I'm formally retired, but until mid-November 2006 I continued to write the weekly Faith section column on a freelance basis. At that point my column was canceled for economic reasons amid many staff and budget cutbacks.
I’ve got a collection of my more serious columns (I also wrote humor columns for a long time) in a book called A Gift of Meaning, published by the University of Missouri Press. Just search on my last name at www.amazon.com.
Another place to buy my book is from The Kansas City Store. Go to: http://www.thekansascitystore.com/ProductDetail.cfm?PID=261
I'm an elder at Second Presbyterian Church in Kansas City, Mo. See: http://www.secondpres.org.
